Solve : Computer Having Trouble Starting?

Answer»

I turned on my computer--as per usual. When I logged on, the normal welcome screen CAME up--I'm working on Windows XP, and my computer itself is an HP, by the way--and then my desktop showed. I was about to get on my desktop, but then another welcome screen had popped up, and on this welcome screen, I was prompted to either shut down the computer, or LOG in as HP_User. Normally, it doesn't ask me to do this.

So I restarted the computer, and again, it prompted me to log in as HP_User. So I clicked on the button, and it said it was accessing my info...and then took me right back to the Welcome/Log in screen. This time, I tried to turn my computer off completely. Again, I turned it on, and I was again re-directed to the Welcome/HP_User screen.

When my desktop had SHOWN up however, I ATTEMPTED to to a Control-Alt-Delete deal, but it wouldn't open up, and then immediately went to the welcome screen again. So currently, I'm stuck on that same welcome screen, and I can't get into my desktop. Anyone have any ideas of what might be going on?Same thing with SAFE mode?

When was the last time you blew the dust out of the computer with a can of compressed air?
