Solve : Computer hijacked? |

Answer» YESTERDAY my computer was FINE and nothing was wrong with it. I woke this morning - I opened Media Player to play some music and Lavasoft's Adaware 8.0 spawned. I got a warning message that two applications could not RUN at the same time. In fact, every application I start spawns Adaware 8.0. I tried to open CCleaner to remove it and Adaware 8.0 opens instead. I WENT to Add and Remove programs and Adaware 8.0 opens instead. I rebooted into Safe Mode and tried to open a command prompt and Adaware 8.0 opens. I have Windows XL Pro with SP 3. I'm at a loss about what to do to eliminate this - any ideas?System Restore?No, it won't let me. I tried that and it opened Adaware 8.0. Everything i try to open or do makes the computer open Adaware 8.0. Go Start>Run, type in: sfc /scannow Click OK. Have Windows CD handy. |
