Solve : Computer Is Running Abnormally Slow?

Answer»

And Im not sure why... It starts at the WINDOWS logo, before I log in. It takes ages to get from there, the log in process lags, and my computer runs about 40% slower than usual.
Im using XP Professional, Service Pack 2
I doubt its a virus, Ive scanned using Kaspersky and nod32, as well as Bitdefender, none of them picked anything up.
I used DSKCHK (which took about 36 HOURS) and cleaned it.
Defragmented.
Clean all temp files.
and im not sure where to go now.
Thnak you for the HELP...

pls give more info about your system.decrease the number of programs at the windows startup and ALSO get rid of unused junk DATA...........
and lastly install a good registry repair software and scan your registry....
cos with a lot of  usage of the system a lot of junk entries are stored in the  registry which tend to slow down your system...
you can also install CCleaner and scan the system..
