Solve : Computer not detecting keyboard? |
|
Answer» Hello, Were all 3 of these keyboards USB? ...Or the other way round? And if they are USB, have you tried them in different sockets? Did you unplug a PS/2 plug while the machine was still on?Hi, Thanks for the responses. I did NOT receive any errors. The screen looked the same as always, just waiting for me to enter my password after I click on my USER name icon. Yes, all of the keyboards were USB.....and I did try them in different ports (front & rear of computer). No, I didn't try a PS/2 kybdA good reason to have a PS2 keyboard LYING around if only for emergencies...a USB needs the drivers to load properly in order to run. PS2 does not. Everyone should have one and they're not too expensive.Enter the CMOS setup utility at boot and look for USB configuration settings for the BIOS. Generally the BIOS provides basic "legacy" support for "mouse" and "keyboard". You should "enable" this. It might say: USB Keyboard - DOS or Enabled (Even if you have NO USB Keyboard) Legacy USB Support - Enabled Above taken from FOLLOWING link: http://www.usbman.com/Troubleshooter%20General.htm hi, check the the usb settings in device managers..check the usb if properly configure... or try PS/2 keyboard.. |
