Answer»

Thank you everyone for your help. It was a hard drive issue and I have now installed a fresh version of windows XP sp3!! Although things seem a bit slow its going well.Do you have any external devices that could be interfering i have a new computer that hates my i pod nano and wont boot unless i unplug it.

if you can access you bios setting mabee you have a fail safe setting some times this works. Quote from: spacecat9 on January 18, 2009, 02:31:37 PM

Your hard drive should have had NOTHING to do with your computer's INABILITY to boot to a disk.
How did you determine that it was the hard drive at FAULT?
Did you buy a new one?
If your machine is running slower than it was before the fresh install, then you should be worried.Probably slow because the MBoard drivers haven't been installed yet...everyone seems to forget this step when re-installing.Quote from: patio on January 19, 2009, 06:29:22 AM

How would I go about installing those?

I determined it was a hard drive issue because when I inserted another clean/formatted hard drive and re installed windows it worked fine. So That doesnt mean it was a hard drive issue, I actually do not know the cuase of my problem but Its working fine now so im satisfied.Patio?Father?....Sorry,
Just got back.
If you have a CD labeled Drivers that shipped with your machine just put it in and it may start by itself...if not open Windows Explorer and look for a Setup icon and click it...
If you don't have that CD DLoad; install and run Everest Home which will give us all your machine info...save the log to atext file and copy and paste the computer summary portion and we'll SEE about tracking down your correct drivers.Ok ,thanks
