Answer» I bought a HP desktop computer 2 months ago and it periodically reboots without input. I have screen saver set at 10 mins and even if in the screen saver MODE the computer will reset. HP has always looked for updates could that be my problem or do I NEED to MAKE a change to one of my setting. Other than an occassionally REBOOT the system works fine. Help. Joe Corrupt screen saver file ? ? Is it an addon or a Windows screen saver ? ? If Windows got to start/run and type in sfc /scannow and hit Enter... Have your Windows CD handy as it may ask for it . When finished re-boot. If it's an addon screen saver delete it and re-install it. Go to Control Panel /System /Advanced/ Startup and Recovery and uncheck " auto re-boot on system errors"..... Also review your settings in Control Panel/Power. Other than that it's still under warranty so you have the option of returning it for satisfaction...
