Answer» i got a power supply connected to the motherboard the ram and when i plug the power supply up to the motherboard and then to the power outlet my pc turns on with out me pressing the power butten. and nothing shows on the screen. there is not beebs nothing. when i remove the ram it beebs. all the fans spin and i can hear it KINDA load but its not going anywhere on the screen? i just bought a new cheap PSU there is no on of switch on the back of the power supply. i got another power supply dynex 400 it has a switch but the power supply doesn't WORK i don't think so. i dont know what to do. i dont really understand all this im sorry. First of all...you should answer patio's question on what prompted you to change the PSU in the first place. There had to be an issue with the computer prior to you replacing the PSU...correct? What was that problem? Also...did you check to see if the "cheap" power supply you just bought is going to fit your computer...or if it has the same (or better) rating as your current power supply? Is this a custom build...or is it a brand name computer?I'll never understand why PEOPLE scrimp on PSU's..... Spend $1000.00 on a board, CPU and high end vid card and throw a $20.00 PSU at it and expect everything to be OK.... BTW most PSU's when unplugged at the box and plugged back in will power up the machine... |
