Solve : Computer rebooting by itself.?

Answer»

A few NIGHTS ago before I went to bed I left my computer on playing some music.. when I came back in the morning I noticed my computer was rebooted and at the start up screen for some reason..

I've left it on for a couple of days now at night and everytime I wake up to check on it I find it has rebooted.. what could be causing this? What can I do to prevent it?

Appreciate any help, thanks.

Right click my computer, and select properties, and then the advanced tab. Under startup and recovery, click SETTINGS, and uncheck the box that says automatically restart. Click apply/ok the required number of times, and reboot your system.

Now, INSTEAD of your computer re-booting when there`s an error. You should receive an error message(BSOD) telling you what caused the problem.

SNAP! Are there any electrical issues at the place where the computer lives / do you have a UPS on the system?

It doesn't hurt anything by doing this right? I hope not, hehe.. thanks again, I'll try it out!
Check the event logs for errors.

To open the Event Viewer:
Click Start > Run
Type eventvwr at the run prompt then click OK

or

Click Start > Control Panel > Performance and MAINTENANCE > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer Quote
