Hey guys, if I'm in the wrong forum - sorry, I'm new. But I think Windows is causing this problem.

my boyfriend's laptop (an alienware, a few years old - don't remember the model) froze up randomly. Now, it wasn't being touched at all, but its screen would suddenly go into white/grey lines and boxes on the screen. I have a HUNCH this happened when it was transferring over to a screensaver - though it has only happened twice, and it's gone in and out of the screensaver fine most TIMES. It also displayed this screen for a moment when it was coming out of the screensaver today, though the other times the screen would freeze like that on its own with no imput. Anyone have similar experiences or advice?What Operating System are you using?
Could you tell us the GRAPHICS details?
(Click Start> Run> Type in: dxdiag )
(Wait for it to LOAD, and then click the Display tab, and tell us whats there)

When you move the laptop lid (screen) when this happens, what happens? (Just move it back and forward a few times, see if anything CHANGES)
