I dunno, you tell us.....

We need more information. What happened before this?
Did you install/run any new programs
How long has this been happening? How do you usually log-off? By the start menu, or some other way (BTW, pressing the Power button shuts down the computer)?I press the start button, and log off with the BOXES, I don't press the silver power button. It started about a week ago and don't remember doing anything different, although I donot know alot about computer yet.Quote

I REALLY have no idea what is going on, so we need some more info. Like do you have any firewalls/anti-virus systems? Try scanning with them.

Post back with any information that you see relevant.
:'(The firewall is turned on and just renewed the norton anti virus and it scans once a week, I really don't know what else you mean? Does anyone know if I do a system restore would that fix why my computer shuts off everytime I log off???Quote from: firestar on May 29, 2007, 07:19:18 PM

That just depends what the problem is.
i.e. If the problem is a virus, that might do the trick.

But if it's something to do with hardware, I don't think it will do anything.

Have you tried using Safe Mode and try logging off in that?By the looks of it, it looks like English is not Firestar's first language (If i am wrong, sorry)

Firestar, lets first try system restore. Do you know how to do that?

System restore might be the best option here but i may be wrong...

Perhaps you can tell us how long this has been happening and if you've installed any program before it started happening...yo! try using pro xp that edition is for starters, amatures unless you r 1 of them. try using service pack 2 it will work 4 u Quote from: scaptic on May 30, 2007, 04:09:42 AM

Huh? I am currently using an XP Home, SP2.
Home and Pro are like Airbus and Boeing. They are exactly the same except for a few functions.Hello Everyone, I appreciate all the suggestions and did try to restore on 7 or 8 different dates and it keeps saying it cannot be restored to those dates. As far as the other things that are suggested to me I have no clue what those things are so I can't do them, I don't even know what service pack is, or those other things, So guess I will just keep turning it on with power button till I get someone here to look at it, It still works and that is the MAIN thing. THANKS.
