Answer» I have a gateway E 4200 with a pentium 3 processor with 384 Mb system ram, and windows xp3.
I was downloading realplayer from the INTERNET and the computer froze. I turned it off and now it won't boot back up. When I turn it on I get the Gateway SCREEN which hangs for about ten seconds, then I get another gateway screen that displays info about the computer, fixes disc, atapi cd-rom, event log messages etc. At the bottom it has press esc to resume and press f1 to setup. Every time I press esc I get a warning message that reads WARNING remove the HP Personal Media Device or any other EXTERNAL media drive from the system before attempting system recovery. Sata will be erased if external drive is left in the system. Remove any such device and press any key to continue. I have no such device and when I press any key it repeats over againIs there a CD in the CD drive when doing this ? ?
Possibly the Gateway Recovery one ? ?
