Solve : Computer won't shut down after virus scan? |

Answer» Windows XP Home SP2 computer. After and during a virus scan the cpu FAN will spin very fast and is very loud. At the END of the virus scan the fan continues to run fast like this. When you try to shut it down it goes through the shutdown process but stops at "windows is shutting down" but won't continue past that. It has to be shut down manually by pushing in the power button. The virus and spyware scans didn't fine anything, so it appears to be a clean computer.What scans ? ?It was SCANNED for viruses first with TREND Micro, then I removed that and scanned with Avast. I scanned for spyware with Spybot S&D, Spysweeper, and Adaware. I have the fan issue with each of these. I don't know if this is a hardware problem, like a bad fan, or if there is some setting that is wrong.Post all the info on your machine you can and we'll take a looksee... |
