Solve : Comuter beeps on return and "+" appears on text...?

Answer»

In the text inside of notepad, TXT file, and my word possessor,  a "+" appears when I hit RETURN.

I've notice that when this happens, a chirp sounds when press return on my desktop. (when no icons are chosen) When I start fresh from a hard boot, and when I hear not this chirp, there are no "+" in my text. But when the chirping starts, so does the "+".  I logically ascertained that the two events are connected.

Operating system: MS Windows 98.
Processor: P2 450 MgH
Arch: 386
COMPUTER: HP (1999 C.E.)

Note that that I'm only a advance user/geek wana-be and not an expert.

Has the system usually been on for a while when this happens?

RE: On the first boot up of the day, every is normal, then after a while it fowls up. When I reboot, the problem continues. But some times when I reboot, the problem ceases, only to continue after a while.

When I run certain apps? None that I noticed.

I've had this computer for a fews years, and this is the first time I've had this problem.

This problem is interrupting my work, work that pays the bills, and it's driving me out of my freaking mind!

That computer's a turkey!
That computer's a turkey!

Yes it is. But it's not so much the computer than MS Window's shoddy Operation system.

I tell you this: I can't take much more of Microsoft; I won't take much more of it! That why I'm making a switch to a Linux OS. But for now I'm stuck with Microcrap Windows.

Back to the subject at hand. I have to solve this problem because it's disrupting my life. Someone HELP me - I'm desperate.

I mentioned turkeys because you miss SPELLED "fouls up" as "fowls up". I guess my attempt at humor was wasted.

Anyhow, have you tried a different keyboard?

If that makes no difference, it could be a faulty motherboard.
