Answer» Everytime i start my copmuter, after i installed WINDOWS SERVICE PACK 2 for xp pro, when i click on START button, my whole computer freezes. Does any of u know how to fix this? Im having to restart every 5 minutes, and i know my computer its good enough to not freeze, i have a 3.0 GHZ HT CPU and 1024 mb pc3200. Need Help. Thx in advance to whoever can help me.Try re-installing the servicepack maybe? Have you went to Windows Update and updated your computer after the servicepack install? if it still freezez, might be a virus, or maybe spyware.If you have: 1. A PROPERLY configured firewall 2. Third party software works better and the problems with SP2 far outweigh the benefits. Many of MS own APPS will not even work with it. Better to do a clean install with a slipstreamed XP CD using nLite and adding RyanVMs update pack so that you can burn a new CD and get a clean unattended install first time. Then re-install your other software and see if any incompatability problems arise. When all is as it should be make a drive image to be able to restore the system easily.
