Solve : Copy/Paste from email looses text formatting.? |

Answer» Windows 2000 Notepad, Wordpad -Of course I have. That's how I know. Try RAPTOR's suggestion; you'll probably have more luck with Word. But like he said, it depends on the type of e-mail.It works pasting into Word, but not into Wordpad. I'm using YAHOO web mail reader. Thanks guys. (from an ol' fart who's not too old to learn)WordPad will sometimes retain formatting, depending on what it is. For example, I just copied some text with bold font from an email to WordPad and the bold font carried over to WordPad. But, WordPad is more limited than Word in what formatting can be copied to it and, as previously stated by others, NotePad retains no formatting. Sometimes, people want the opposite effect; they want formatting NOT to be carried over from, say, a web page. So, copying to NotePad, PERHAPS as an intermediate step to copying to another application, can be used to drop/lose the formatting. Quote It works pasting into Word, but not into Wordpad.Wordpad will usually display certain fonts, colors, and styles...but it won't always display the proper formatting/layout. As we've established, Word is your best bet for this. You could try pasting the content into Word, copying it again, and then pasting it into Wordpad. But that's a bit of a hassle and I'm really not even sure it would work. I suppose it's worth a SHOT, though. |
