Answer» As of late, I am unable to copy files to a cd DISK. I have a DVD drive and a CD/RW. My OS is XP. Various CD based programs will work in both drives so the drives are working. I have attempted to use both the Windows copy device via "send to" and drag, drop and copy methods and also my installed "Nero" burn program. When attempting to copy files onto DISKS, the message boxes indicate that there is no disk and I am instructed to insert one even THOUGH one is already in the drive. When reinserted, it will still not be recognized. Any thoughts?It's possible, though highly unlikely that your blank disks are bad, you do get more bad one's in the spools than if you pay a little more and get brand name. It sounds like the optical drive is failing, is there a known GOOD one that you can put in your computer to check with? They are cheap to buy, but I would rather save you money if it can be helped.
