Solve : cpu temperture?

Answer»

Hi,

I wonder what is a reasonable temperture for the cpu under normal USE, that is no over clocking and any other things that might "improve" the cpu performance?

MacPCGood question. Can't be answered as is..........

What CPU?Less than 60C? DEPENDS on the processor.Well, let's say an Intel Celeron 2.9 GHz. I am getting a bit concern cuz the temperture inside of the case can get as high as 120F and the temperture probe software comes with the MOBO keeps issueing a warning when it gets to 166F. I am considering putting in a more powerful fan and perhaps get a better ventilate case.

Contradictory points: "can get as high as 120F" and "the mobo keeps issueing a warning when it gets to 166F".  Why would the mobo issue a warning of 166F when the TEMP has only gone as high as 120F?

How many fans do you now have?  Where are they POSITIONED and which direction is the air flow?
120F is 48.88888888888889C (approximately) which is OK. Unless there is an actual problem you are experiancing, don't worry about it.Sorry, my mistake. I meant when I have the case closed, it can get as high as 166F when the software issues warning. When I leave the case open. it gets to 120F. (The room has A/C.) Guess I'll need a bigger case with a 200HP fan.
