You took off the battery of your laptop. Then you plugged the charger and tried to power it up and nothing happened. If thats the case and since you just wiped the hard drive I REALLY dont think your motherboard or any other device got affected. It could be the charger itself that your using that is just dead or defective. Try to USE another one. If you don't have one you might BUY another one (go see a friend that has one could be a solution)
