It completely depends on the size of the back-up data. But you should be able to use multiple disks just make sure you label them 1, 2, 3 etc.I don't think the Dell recovery system supports spanning....but i could be wrong.

To create your Recovery Discs, you will need one or more blank DVDs and your computer MUST have a DVD burner installed.
It doesn't say anything about 8GB DL DVD and it looks like it supports spanning.Thanx for the heads up Broni...Any time
