Solve : Ctrl-alt-del? |
|
Answer» Does anyone know a way to send the Ctrl-alt-del keys to a remote MACHINE? I have a remote server I use though a TERMINAL session and when I disconect I want to lock the screen and not log off. If you want to lock the screen and the standard Windows shortcuts are not working on the remote machine (tried Windows+L?) create a shortcut to rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation That's one solution anyway. On Windows Vista you can just right-click on the taskbar and click task manager (which is what comes up when you press these keys). Quote from: Spoiler on JUNE 24, 2008, 12:51:18 PM When you disconnect from a remote you will automatically be LOCKED out. You may not see the standard lock out screen, note that after disconnecting you are asked for your username and password. If you are worried about people sitting at the computer you were using to remote in on. They would still have to have the pw to get on your remote, plus you could always lock or logoff that machine without having to logoff your remote connection. Hope this helps.I will give it a try....I am on site now so I can play. Will POST how things work out. |
