Solve : CTRL+ALT+DELETE not working!? |
|
Answer» I'm using Windows XP. Now, I don't know when this happened, but suddenly CTRL+ALT+DELETE is not working. Also, my computer/internet seems to have gotten slower than normal. Sorry, but how do you turn off system restore? To turn off System Restore... 1. Go to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore 2. Click on System Restore Settings. 3. CHECK Turn off System Restore and click OK. 4. RESTART your computer. To turn it back on after scanning... 5. Follow steps 1 and 2 to return to the settings, uncheck Turn off System Restore, and click OK. 6. Create a new restore point and close the program. As for your other question...some programs will give you the option to save the results as a .txt file. If not, then copy and paste the results into Notepad. If you can't do that, then I suppose a screenshot would have to be sufficient.I downloaded the program and it found ALOT of infected files. I think the culprit may have been a p2p trojan horse back door virus or something. Anyway, CTRL+ALT+DELETE works now. Thanks alot! You're probably right about it being a P2P trojan. There are several out there that like to disable the Task Manager. If you use P2P programs (especially Limewire), they're very hard to avoid. Make sure you update AVG regularly (check at least once a day) and scan about once a week (in Safe Mode if it's not too inconvenient). If you think everything's alright now and if you haven't already done so, you may want to follow the System Restore steps I posted in order to clear out your restore points. If you don't do that, Windows will just back up the malware and you could be re-infected. Quote I downloaded the program and it found ALOT of infected files.
