Solve : cursor centering? |

Answer» How can I make my cursor stay where it is when I shut the lid on my dell d600 lpt?It GOES to center now when I shut the lid.XP proWhat does this mean?I searched the manual and cant find a solution.Quote from: Allan on February 13, 2010, 11:38:17 AM I don't understand what it is you want to do or why you want to do it.I am new to computers maybe It is called the pointer? When working on my laptop I sometimes CLOSE the lid for awhile. When I open it back up the pointer is in the center of the screen ,I would like it if it would stay where I had left it.Why? (and you had it right - cursor - I just thought I misunderstood, but I guess I didn't) And I don't know of any way to do that.On my work computer it would make life easyier. The computer is in my truck and I open and close the lid many times a day.I have to reposition the cursor to the dialog box?every time I open it the lid. I see. How about this - instead of closing the lid, leave it open. Just set the power options to power down the display and hd after a defined period of inactivity. Then to "awaken", just press any key (space bar would be good because it would not move the cursor) or move the mouse (which would, of COURSE, move the cursor). Or even better, get a DC car adapter and don't worry about it It is always plugged in to the adapter .I close the lid because it is in the way when driving ,and off road it shakes the screen when its open.Change the power options in Control Panel so that closing the lid does nothing. If it is always plugged into an adaptor, you don't have to worry about running the battery down. I tried this again it still does it.This is just a minor inconvenience but it bugs me.My friend has the same setup and his doesn't move on lid closure.I checked all the SETTINGS I could think of with both lpt,s side by side, they were the same!Again it is not a big problem ,just thought it would be neat if I could figure it out before the company IT guys did.Maybe when you close the lid you are touching the pad with a fingerIs the FRIDGE light on when you shut the door ? ? |
