We'll be waiting, good luck.  I'm back with some good news and BAD. Finally, I got it to defrag in safe mode. Unfortunately I can't get it to open windows normally. It doesn't complete the loading. The icons will appear but it seems to stop loading as if it finished but nothing more happens. I went back to msconfig to try different startups but nothing happened. Sometimes the timer will CONSTANTLY run as if it's trying to load but other time it will stop. Can someone help ASAPI'm sure you all are busy but if there is anyone who can give me info in the next 10 minutes I would really appreciate it. I'm on a public computer and my time is just about up. Thanks anyoneI don't know if I made the deadline, but do you have the tools to reinstall Windows?

A Startup disk?
The original Win98 CD with 25 digit code to load it?
Any important data files backed up?
Any way to back them up if you don't REPLY yes to above?
Any experience with installing an operating system?
THe make.model of your computer as WELL as hard drive size, RAM, audio card, and video card?
A desire to learn?
