Answer» Hi Everyone, I frequently ADD web site shortcuts to my desktop. However, the other day something strange happened. This particular website only had the "copy" function available. When I clicked "OK" to add to desktop. It asked me if it was ok to synchronize to desktop icons (i think). Anyways once I did this, it turned all my other desktop icons BLUE and installed a scrollable box (jpeg image of website) in my upper corner. I have tried everything to get rid of it, but it is of no avail. My computer is working fine, but I do not want it there and I want my regular icons back. Unfortunately My system restore is not an option because that has not been allowing me to go back to an earlier date. Any suggestions please! Thanks in advance, PatrickI can only guess but change the theme and back again and SEE if that helps. Maybe delete the jpg icon too, to start with. You can allow web items to desktop in the settings and thats not advised. You can also click right on the open desktop and adjust icon properties there. I'm sure its a trial and error process to find what works.Thank you LOSTCOAST, I sincerely appreciate the help.
After posting on here, I talked with a friend over the phone and we were ABLE to solve the issue. Now I will post about my system restore inability which seems to be more of a pressing issue. Once again, thank you! Patrickunless you have a problem, you can go into control panel, system icon, and and look for the tab for system restore and turn it on. If it wont let you then I would do a full virus scan and malware scan because its usually whats blocking it.
