Hi All. I am pleased to be a part of the group as a new member. Can someone help me delete this directory. I have tried RM, DELTREE, RMDIR and it keeps SAYING Destory not recognized. I have VISTA but I am in DOS because nothing sees this directiory. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The directory is probably not empty if it won't delete...Hi. I uninstalled using SPYBOT and there are 127 password protected files in that directory messing up my backups. Thanks for responding.try booting into safemode and delete it from there...are you on the Admin account ? ?I'll try that but it seems like syntax is the problem. Can you give me the command syntax:
Is this right:deltree c:\ProgramData\Spybot - Search & Destroydeltree command doesn't exist in NT based Windows.
It was replaced by rd command.
If folder is not empty, you have to use /s switch.
In your case:
rd c:\ProgramData\Spybot - Search & Destroy /s

If the above doesn't work, use Unlocker: http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/If the directory name has spaces, you will need to use quotes:

rd "c:\ProgramData\Spybot - Search & Destroy" /s
