Solve : delete mail? |

Answer» I cannot delete ANY messages I RECEIVE in Outlook Express. I have scanned for virus, etc. What is going on? This started happening when I was deleting the Deleted Items folder, when a message came up that said, "There has been a problem." That was all. I again went to delete the folder and it \said that the folder was empty.You can't delete the Deleted Items folder. It's a STANDARD folder in OE and is not removable. You can delete messages in the folder, but you can't delete the folder. So, I'm a bit puzzled as to exactly what you were doing. Can you open OE without error messages appearing? And, you see all the standard folders (Inbox, Outbox, Sent Items, Deleted Items, and Drafts), right? Can you view the contents of the Deleted Items folder? How many messages are in it? If you can't view it, what happens when you select, i.e. click on, that folder? Sorry, bad writing. I deleted the items in the deleted items folder after which the problem began. Correct. all the regular icons and folders are present. I can get to the deleted items folder and if currently shows no deleted items.Try this. Go to Tools, Options, Maintenance, and click on the button for Clean Up Now. On the next panel, click on Compact and let OE go through that process. Close OE and re-open it.
