Solve : deleting programs?

Answer»

could someone explain how to delete programs that are running in the box where the START is

On XP anyway.

right click "Start" select "properties". Now you should have a box that says "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" with the start menu tab opened.

Select "Customize" on the right of the box.

Now you have "Customize Start Menu", with the General Tab open.

Select "Clear List" on the right side again, in the programs section. You can also DETERMINE here, the number of programs SHOWN in your start list.

BTW these are only shortcuts to recently USED programs.

If I'm understanding your post right, this is what your LOOKING for.I think what you just told him to do DELETES the saved list in the run command. I'm not 100% sure how to do it in XP as I'm currently sitting at a Vista machine but you should just be able to right click on the icon and select delete or remove from this list. If I'm correct that you wanted to remove the item from the start menu list.On XP it clears the start menu list in one swipe.

But like you said, a person can just right click each one, and select "remove from this list".do you mean start - all program?& all the shown program?just remove it from the list or DELETE it?
as for remove it just right click on the program, select delete, don't worry the program still in the pc,if you want to DELETE it, go to control panel - add or remove and just select the program then uninstall..is it that hard or i missunderstood the questions again Well, the question was not extremely clear.

And it looks like this could have been a hit and run, since there has been no response to anything.
