Solve : Deleting user account?

Answer»

I am using window xp home edition. I want the computer to boot right into window without having to go through a user sign in icon. I have two account and I figured that I could just DELETE one of the account and then uncheck using the WINDOWS welcome screen through the user ACCOUNTS in the control panel. When I did this windows says I can't delete that account as it is logged on. So I logged off and logged on again making sure I was logged onto the account I wanted to keep. It still says that I am logged on and can't delete it. So I switched to the other account and tried to delete  the account I wanted but it said I needed to log off it before I could delete it. I am stuck . How do I delete this UNWANTED user account and get windows to start up without a LOGIN?

Thanks
Try going to start|run and type "control userpasswords2"
You can do all sorts of account editing from thereStarting at the raw basics...

this usually solves 80% of problems no matter how complex

press (alt+ctrl+delete) or (alt+shift+escape) for vista sort the processes list by user.

Delete everything that comes up as the user that you wish to delete

#So example: you name is BOB. the other user is Mary. You, Bob, wish to remove marys account.#

1. log in as Bob
2.task manager
3. sort and delete all Marys tasks
4. control panel
5. user accounts
6. Select mary's accound
7. try to remove
