Answer» I currently own a HP Pavilion dv9000 64bit laptop computer with windows vista. It has GIVEN me many problems and I was wondering if windows 7 would function properly on my current computer. I have tried to do a system recovery to restore it to its factory settings, but it won't work. All I get is an error message. If anyone has any help/advice it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.Where do you WANT to go from here ? ? Is there data you need saved or you just want a clean start ? ?
Details are important...I just want a clean start. I don't care about any files.Clean Install of Win7...Let me ask you another question. I am trying to RECOVER my system to factory settings and when I try to hit f11 (system recovery) at computer start up it does'nt do anything. I tried something that someone told me to do, which was changin a partition to "active", and now when I try to restart my computer I get an error message that says "boot mgr not supported". Any idea what I can do for that? I'm confused now... I thought you stated you want a FRESH start ...I do want a fresh start, but when I try to start my computer I get that error message. I appreciate your help, but all I want to do is restore my computer to it's factory condtion so that I can download a new operating system. I don't know how complex of an ordeal that may be, but that's all I need to do. You should have cliked on the LINK i provided...all the info is there.
If you plan on DLoading an OS to install then you're on your own and i will assist no further.Boot to a legitimate, retail copy of Windows 7 DVD and select the option to delete and recreate partition(s) before installing the OS, then install the OS.
