Answer» the past couple of days, my laptop has been lagging *censored*. i watch the task mgr and the cpu usage is maxed out to 100%. everthing just starts going sluggishly.
when this first happened, i restarted the laptop, and had to force it to restart, then it booted into a error MODE and it had to fix all these errors, doing a scan disk i guess.... i noticed this as i was actually watching a video on youtube the computer started to lag and hang.
after restart i didnt see the ISSUE untill i tested out some thing, so i decided to do a reinstall of windows 7. i did a regular install and made the windows.old folder and the problem was still there. so today i did a boot from disk install and formatted the c drive and reinstalled the win7 on the c, and the problem is still here.
i notice the problem happens when i start to do a computer task like disk cleanup for system files, or something pertaining to the computer itself...although it also did it when i ran AOL or IE.
what am i looking at here? possible hardware failure?Which PROCESS is eating the cycles?none. there is pretty much nothing running. i did the format today and fresh install, and had the problem right off the bat.
possible hard drive failure? If the cpu is running at 100% then ONE or more processes have to add up to 100%. Period.
Open Task Manager to the Processes Tab and sort on the cpu column with highest usage at the top (double-click on "CPU" at the top of the column). When the processor spikes, which process is causing the spike?ight im on the fresh install right now, and i have the laptop fully loaded with programs and so on, and im waiting to see if it does it again....
