Solve : Dell Media Experience Folder opens when I log on? |
|
Answer» WINDOWS XP, IE 7, have all the latest downloads/updates. RECENTLY installed Dell Support Center which seems to be okay, but now when I restart or log on to my computer it opens a window for Dell MEDIA Experience, which it never did before. I'm a novice, don't know where to look to have this turned off or not happen. It's not the end of the world, i simply close it and move about my business, but i was just curious. I tried the dell site but they weren't all that much help. Thanks for listening. Go Startmsconfig Hit Enter. Click on Startup tab. Look for: PCMService.exe entry Remove checkmark. Click OK.Thanks for the info, i'll go see what i can find. Didn't see that particular entry pcmservice.exe in my startup list, but maybe i'm just not seeing it. I tried to copy what was there out to this post, but it wouldn't let me. so i'll keep looking. thanks again. Get AUTORUNS: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/Utilities/AutoRuns.mspx After installation, click on "Logon" tab, go File>Save As, save it as text file, and paste its CONTENT in your next post.sorry been gone a while, but thanks broni for the tip. not sure what the issue was but it fixed itself. i'm learning as i go, you guys are great.I'm glad, it fixed itself |
