Answer» My HELP backfired. I sent my brother a program to find duplicate FILES and he called to say that he used it found alot of them kept the latest and deleted the others. When he tried to turn on the computer he gets a preliminary indication which turns into a screen that says ntldr needed and can go no further. He has the reinstall cd disk xpwith patch 2 that came with the computer which I had him put in drive and start computer cd light blinks but does not read disk. He like me has limited knoledge so we need help. He has the reinstall cd disk xpwith patch 2I assume it's Recovery Disk? It should be bootable. - Insert Recovery CD into the computer. - Restart. - When prompted to press any key to boot from the CD, press any key. I don't remember, though, if it has "Repair" option. Anyway, try the above, and post back, what the options are.Broni, I'm quite sure that the recovery disk will not allow repairs. It will wipe the HDD and restore to the original state. It would be important to know what the disk says EXACTLY on it. IF it is a recovery disk supplied from the MANUFACTURER, is it the correct one for that machine? If not and is a Windows CD is it a real one with a hologram on it? |
