i have windows xp... none of my desktop ICONS open.
Ive tried last good configuration known but it only fixed the problem
the first time i done it.
Ive ALSO tried to go to system restore but that wont open too along with everything else
thats in start up. Can anyone help?What happens in Safe MODE?

Can you try System Restore in Safe Mode?i just done safe mode and it seems like the problems fixed!

and what if i stay in safe mode? Whats the difference?In Safe Mode, Windows only loads default Windows Drivers, Startup items, services and Settings. Safe Mode usually has black wallpaper, classic Windows THEME and a higher resolution (zoomed in).
To get back to normal mode, just restart the computer normally.oh ok, i guess im in normal mode then cause my wallpaper is STILL as it is
and everything else looks the same.
