When i restart my computer and log onto my account, all it does is show my background. It won't load any desktop items or the taskbar. I have tried to run task manager, but that has failed also. This just STARTED happening when I tried to restart my computer (which i had to do quite often because of my internet not working) not that long ago. I have run many virus scans on safemode because i know that my computer had been infected several times before, but still the same thing happens when I restart the computer normally. Everything works fine on the SafeMode, but I cannot do anything on the normal mode. I am practically technologically impaired, and would LOVE some help on this.

Go Start>Run ("Start Search" in VISTA), TYPE in:
sfc /scannow
Click OK (hit Enter in Vista).
Have Windows CD/DVD handy.
If System File Checker (sfc) will find any errors, it MAY ask you for the CD/DVD.
If sfc won't find any errors in Windows XP, it'll simply quit, without any message.
