Answer» Does anyone know do you need a driver for WINDOWS 7 Home Premium dial up modem I have installed a dial up modem into my windows 7 machine and when I PLUG the phone LINE into the computer the phones makes a funny ring a serious of short rings more like burr burr not the normal ring? The modem says it is for windows xp vista. Any info would be helpful. Ojasis the modem in pulse mode RATHER than tone mode? Does it make the de-der-dum noise as it dials or just a series of dit-dit-dits? Also, have you checked that it's dialling the right number?what model / MANUFACTURER is your dial up modem?
