Solve : DirectX 9.0??

Answer»

My game is running really SLOW, i tried upgrading to dirext 9.0.

The official website said, to right click the game client. and add one of these to the target.

engine 0                               (directx 5.0)
engine 1                                 (opengl)
engine 2                                (directx 9.0)

so i added engine 2. after installing 9.0.

"C:\Program Files\Tibia\Tibia.exe" engine 2

and i get this error

Video Surface Allocation Failed. (error code 13.)
Please choose another video graphics mode.

I heard directx 9.0 would improve fps speed.
(which i need because right now its like 5 - 10 fps which if horrible)

And i got that.. any help?

Click here to get the latest DirectX.
I DOUBT a newer version of DirectX will help your FPS.what game?? has the problem also been there?? do you have the cds to reinstall the game?? if so, uninstall the game, install directx 9 RESTART the computer, then reinstall the game Quote from: unlovedwarrior on June 15, 2007, 08:38:39 AM

The game is Tibia as seen in his post (the Tibia.exe, MMORPG). And do you have intergrated graphics that might be interfering with (maybe) your other graphics card.I dont know. i might just say SCREW it and buy more ram... it was acting fine until my buddy f-ed up my computer! Sorry to say but... buying more RAM wont do anything about the DirectX9 problem that your having... Can you check if you have cards connected in your PCI/AGP/PCIe slot? they are usally white or kinda Tan (The Slots, not the cards)... Quote from: Bruce_Bliss on June 15, 2007, 01:38:25 PM

Let's say you have a spankin' new computer with all the latest hardware, and you're running DX 5.  Then, and only then, will upgrading to a newer version of DX improve anything, because your current version wasn't using the card to it's full potential.  Otherwise, just like all software, the longer it's been around the more bloated it gets.

Check to be sure your graphics card can handle DX9.
