Solve : disc defrag? |

Answer» Scheduled disc defrag does not comply. Schedule says "never". How do I get disc defrag to work as scheduled?How do you want it scheduled ? ? Thanks for your response, but I don't want another app. Windows used to defrag automatically at 3:00 AM on the first Sunday of every month. Now, when I check, the schedule says "never" even though I keep programming a schedule. I'm currently defragmenting manually (defrag now) once a month. Is the PC turned on at that time you want it to run disc defrag or do you have the PC waking up so windows can run the defrag. From reading your post you are familiar with setting up disk defrag but just in case you need it here is MS link to set up the disk defrag http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Improve-performance-by-defragmenting-your-hard-disk Have you ran a scan with your AV suite just to be on the safe side and to make sure there is not a bug that is affecting it from running. Also some AV suite's will INTERFERE with the MS built in UTILITIES that you may want to use. If the above doesn't help you may want to consider running SFC there may some files that are partially corrupt. There maybe a 3rd party application that can be interfering also. I just have to remember to do it. I suspect the problem is in a version of something I downloaded in the past few months. I have the same situation with two other laptops. Thanks to all. |
