Answer» I have recently removed SEVERAL programs from my pc and wish to run disk defrag. When I attempt to run it I get an error message stating" disk defragmenter has detected that chkdsk is scheduled to run on the volume ---C. Please run chkdsk/F."
I have no idea what that message means, I have nothing "scheduled" to run. Rebooting does not help. Any suggestions? Very much appreciated!I'm not sure if this will help but have you got any scheduled tasks (de-fragment). Also is atleast 10% of your hard drive free space?I have nothing "scheduled" except for virus scan which has always been scheduled. 15% of my hard drive is free. Will de-fragment begin and then quit PART WAY through? Sorry I'm just trying to get a full picture. Also details of your os and comp would be handy. Cheers mateIt does not run at all (or analyze)....the error message pops up immediately. Windows XP/HP Pavillion. I have run defrag many TIMES in the past w/o a problem....If your still having problems check this link I found for you. http://www.winhelponline.com/articles/60/1/How-to-fix-Disk-Defragmenter-problems-in-Windows-XP.htmlThanks to both of you...Cheers!
