Answer» programs such as windows media player, quicktime media player, and some other programs are giving me error messages to do with
"WMPLAYER CAUSED an EXCEPTION c0000409H in module DSOUND.DLL at 0197:beb14fef."
I did a search for this dsound.dll files and found it. Ive scanned it and everything seems ok. Will simply deleting this file help anything?
Also, I've SEEN some sites suggesting cleaning up old .dll files, which I seem to have hundreds of.
I'm using windows 98, thanks please help...skiboka:
My suggestion is to delete your CURRENT dsound.dll and ddraw.dll files on your computer and copying new dsound.dll and ddraw.dll files from your Windows 98 INSTALLATION CD.
Instructions as to how to go about doing this are here:

Hope that helps
