Solve : Dlls not found, WINSXS?

Answer»

For some reason, GDIPLUS as well as visual c++ RUNTIMES i.e, 2005, install their dynamic link libraries (dlls) in WINSXS. Perhaps they are suppose to. However, programs that require these dlls cannot assess them. For example, I had to copy GDIPLUS to the system or system32 (as these are in my environment path variable) folder so the program can assess the dll. Dependency walker also states that the dlls for the aforementioned cannot be FOUND, even though both GDIPLUS and Visual C++ 2005 Runtimes are installed. I don't understand why they are not working "out of the box". Does it have to do with security catalogs? I just have no idea, and have been dying to know why for a while. Re-installing improves nothing, and same goes for "trying" to register them.

All you did was post Google's first result; the content is absolutely useless.

Experts, please stand up.A simple: "I've already seen that, THANKS" would have been sufficient.

Just sayin'Start/Run ...type in sfc scannow and hit Enter...
Have your Windows CD handy as it may ask for it.
Let it run to completion and re-boot...Quote from: Allan on July 22, 2011, 03:50:27 PM

Also learning the proper use (hint: not as seen above) and spelling of the word "discreet" would be nice too, for the future...

Just sayin'
