Solve : Dr. Watson Postmortem DeBugger?

Answer»

Occasionally, and seamingly more often now, I get a WINDOW OPENING up that is entitled DrWatson Postmortem DeBugger. This window gives me the option to send or don't send a report to Microsoft but regardless of which option I click (usually don't send) the PROGRAM shuts down and often freezes my computer to the point where I have to perform a HARD reboot. What is this pain in the *censored* and how, if it's not a necessary function, can I get rid of it?
Please help,
BGWith SP2 came some problems with Dr. Watson. It's bad enough that he starts snooping around whenever there is an error, pushing an already unstable system over the edge sometimes, but it appears that there is sometimes an error in Dr. Watson, prompting yet another clone of Dr. Watson to start.

None of this does most of us any good. And most people don't use the debugger, anyway. If you want to disable him, run regedit.

Find:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AeDebug
and change the value of Auto to "0" including the quotes. It is probably "1" now.

If you'd rather just control what the good Dr. does when there is an error, Run: drwtsn32
and set the options.Thank you and I TRIED going to regedit and could not find that file. Can you help me find it?
Thanks,
BGok, do this, bring up the  Run command thats start button, click on Run then type in regedit.exe click OK, now when the registery comes up GO UP TO the word "Edit" and click on that, then scroll down to the word "Find" then in the window type >>  AeDebug  << then click on Find Next, when it is done searching look in the right screen and change the value of Auto to "0"  No quotes. It is probably "1" now.
