Solve : drive C is full?

Answer»

I have a 3GB hard drive and it's almost full.  I'm not sure how to find out if I can get rid of some files.  I cleaned out the temp internet files and a few others but that didn't help much.  I have created some new files during my project to TRANSFER music from tape to CD's.  This is probably the main cause, however, now I don't have enough room to use the Nero CD burner to transfer the files.  Please help this NOVICE.  Thanks go to the control panel then Add/remove programs.

uninstall the things in there that you don't need.

R0SSWhen I Open C drive and SEE that the MEMORY is almost full, how do I find out what makes up the 2.86GB of space?  And if I remove a program I may need later? With Windows Explorer, right click on the directrories, choose 'properties and it will show you the size.
If you uninstall something you need later, it won't work anymore.
Maybe time for a new HDD?a new hard drive is probably the best way to go, with three gig minus the space of the OS you don't have alot of space anymore, especially for music files.Win98 needs less than 1GB.
Clean house with this. There is a software Cclearner.

It requires very less space to install.
Install it, it will clean many things that you won't be able to do yourself.

After that you can uninstall it.Which operating system are you using Janey?

RAM is memory. Drive space is a DIFFERENT matter.

A 3GB drive has 2.79 GB of binary space or 2861 MB.

You mention drive C: , is this a partitioned drive and do you have any other - physical - drives in the same computer?
