     I want to change the name of the drive before the drive letter.  Say, for instance, I want to
CHANGE
"Removable Drive (D)"
TO
"'iPod (D)".

     Changing the "Label" name won't work!If you feel comfortable making changes to the Registry, this might be the solution: Change Drive Name and Icon.  I have not tried this; I found it in a Google search.Open the Control Panel...right click the drive....select rename.....have FUN !

Well, surely he can understand the difference between the letter designated for the drive and the name or label of the drive.
