Solve : "Drive Not Ready" on system shutdown?

Answer»

So when I shutdown/restart my computer, I get a message "Drive Not Ready" and mentions that it can't read from Drive A.

I don't even have a FLOPPY disk installed on my computer, so this message confused me.  So I went into the device manager and just uninstalled my Floppy Drive.  Restarted (without an error message) and when windows loaded I get a "Found New HARDWARE" notification and it reinstalls this phantom Floppy Drive.

What could be the reason for this and what can I do to fix it?Do you know how to get into and use Setup/BIOS? If you know how to enter setup and are comfortable with it, find the floppy drive in BIOS Setup and disable it. Remember to enable it again if you ever install a floppy disk in the future. Happy computing.I do not know how to do that, but I'm fairly COMPETENT, if you walk me through it I don't think I'd screw anything up

ThanksWhat make and model is the computer? Make would be Dell, Compaq, etc. and the model would be the name after it, like "Dell Dimension" or something like that. BIOS's differ from system to (shining) system. I played around in BIOS and figured it out, Floppy isn't showing up in My Computer, so I'd bet this fixes it, I'll post again if not, OTHERWISE, thanks for you help!OK. No problem.
