Solve : Dual booting systems-> Need a little help with Setup?

Answer»

Alright, so my hard drive on my old Toshiba satellite A40 finally died out. Since I PUT in a newer 40 GB hard drive, i want to install my OS correctly and make sure i only do it once. So here's what i wish to do. I want to install Windows Xp pro on only 20GB of the hard drive space. I wanna leave the other 18GB for another operating system however, i'm not 100 percent sure how to set up my partitions to do that. When installing windows XP would i simply TYPE 20GB when creating the partition? and the remainder of the partition would be formatted using the second OS? and would i have a menu bar like in Linux to choose which OS i need at boot up?Create 2 partitions when doing the initial XP install...
Then when installing the 2nd OS point it to the 2nd partition.
NOTE Let US know what OS that will be...
NOTE #2: You are gonna run out of room soon on both of those partitions...just sayin. And yes, if you create one partition you will be offered the option of assigning the remainder of the space to the second partition.
