Solve : Dual booting systems-> Need a little help with Setup? |

Answer» Alright, so my hard drive on my old Toshiba satellite A40 finally died out. Since I PUT in a newer 40 GB hard drive, i want to install my OS correctly and make sure i only do it once. So here's what i wish to do. I want to install Windows Xp pro on only 20GB of the hard drive space. I wanna leave the other 18GB for another operating system however, i'm not 100 percent sure how to set up my partitions to do that. When installing windows XP would i simply TYPE 20GB when creating the partition? and the remainder of the partition would be formatted using the second OS? and would i have a menu bar like in Linux to choose which OS i need at boot up?Create 2 partitions when doing the initial XP install...
what do you mean? and just to clarify i will have the option at boot to select which OS i want to boot from? Quote from: comda on November 29, 2011, 03:12:46 PM I wanna leave the other 18GB for another operating system What other operating system? |
