Solve : "dumprep"??

Answer»

theres a WEIRD proccess under my "processes" tab in the task manager called dumprep, it just pops up randomly, and keeps eating up memory till it gets to about 400,000k then dissapears... i have no clue what it is, but it is driving me nuts...

btw, what is wwsecure.exe? i cant end it, its a "system" proccess, actually, there are quite a few processes that i am unsure of, heres a screen shot...Found on google as the first item returned during a search for "dumprep":

" dumprep.exe forms a part of Microsoft Windows XP (and later versions), in-built fault logging software. Upon serious errors this PROGRAM will write the details to a text file and request the information be sent to Microsoft. This program is a non-essential system process, and is installed for third party use. "

I don't know enough about the Dumprep process to tell if what you're experiencing is abnormal behavior, but atleast this gives you a place to start.

ALSO, I don't see any processes in your screenshot that look malicious.  I ran a search on a couple of them and, assuming you have specific hardware installed, they all look ok to me.  Remember though that malware and viruses can mimic legitamite processes to a point where the running processes tab doesn't give enough information to tell the difference.Dead_Reckon try to instal WinXP manager, he help you to identify all windows processes and force windows to close if you want this

wwsecure.exe isa not a windows process, try to close by using  Services in CPanel/Administrativ tools. Quote

that one, i have to find a free way to get rid of... whoa.... it says that my processor is being bogged down by unessiary processes, if anyone knows of a free program, tell me, i know its going to be annoying to find on google...erm... i found a trojan process... how od i get rid of it...? its csrss...i get the same error dumpreg ...what this does it dumps your memory and sometimes as for myself it will reboot u on start up if its running it has done this to me many of times...c\windows\\Minidump and remove them yourself.....or u can turn that option off by  right click my computer icon...... click properties...click advanced tab...look for start up and recovery option below click settings.....u will see something like this
small memory dump (64kb)
%SystemRoot%\Minidump
just change the option to none.......good luckthanks again   ... but i noticed somthing under the "user profiles" button thats under the advanced tab also... there is a account named "Admin" there, its only using 296k, and it is a "Local" account, so i know its nothing to worry about, but should i delete it? there is no way for me to access it that i can think of...

EDIT: strangly enough, it says the last time it was modified was 5/21/2005... which cant be, i have formatted this hard drive long after that date, during that date it was still in my dads possesion, and under his name, so why is this showing up at that date?
