Solve : Editing Vista? |
|
Answer» I am currently on a computer that is used by the whole family, and every time I get on the computer all my settings have been changed. My OS is Vista Home Edition 64bit. What I would like to do is lock out the 'Personalization' option from being edited. I am wondering if this can be done? I would consider downloading/purchasing software, if someone could recommend one that is safe to USE. Or if anyone has some idea on how it could be done?Create a separate account for yourself (password PROTECTED) then nobody can change your settings. Let me know if you need anymore help Thanks Mulreay. I should have mentioned that I would like to keep everything central to one account. I have used a different account for everyone in the family last time when I was using XP, but it became too difficult. Any other options?Hi MATE as far as I know there is no way to lock out personalization on a computer. It's not something that would ever require administrator privileges but since your all using the same account your all administrators anyway. The only way I suggest you do it is to create one more account called family and let the rest of the family use the new account. You can TRANSFER anything over to the new account easy enough, most destop programmes will transfer anyway anything else you can put into a folder in the sharing file. I have two on mine. |
