Answer» I'm a book DEALER using HomeBase2.3 as an inventory manager. Recently HB refused to accept its own data FILE: hbdata.hbd on which I have some 2500 books listed. Instead I received error 3197 indicating a CORRUPTED database. Does anyone know about 3197 and what, if anything, can be done to correct it? I use Win 98, 2nd Ed. see if the problem lies with win98>http://support.microsoft.com/kb/185836/EN-US/ or homebase.............you could try this it may work.....locate the c:;\windows\option\cabs folder scroll down till you come across reg32 . next to it is one called SETUP......if you click this icon it will re-install the system without losing any files......no DISKS.....required......((((back up any files needed))) just in case................................... ...!!!!ok. msoft say this>>>>>http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q182867/
