Answer» I have a Dell Desktop, with Vista Home BASIC OS. When I turn the compter on, it opens a black screen, saying Search diskette o failed. Press F1 to continuo or F12 to set up. When I press F1 there is a blinking line for about 30 secs. And when Windows boots up, I get a message that the Floppy Disk driver was installed succesfully. I do not have al Flopy Disk hardware. Does anybody know why this is happening? I tried system restore But the same THING is going on. Thanks in advance.Check BIOS to see if Floppy is enabled and disable so it wont look for it on boot. Not sure the F-key for Dells BIOS if you already know the key then you should be all set..... if you dont know the key to get in such as it doesnt advertise it at the boot splash screen then try pressing F12 repeatedly at boot of system to see if you can get into BIOS or ESC key, or F10, or DELETE key until the BIOS interface displays options.
