Answer» Hey there,
I am getting an error message when trying to RUN an online game called Poolsharks. I've been playing the game for the last few months on my old computer and it worked fine, however, i've recently upgraded to a new computer and when i try to run the game, i get this message:
"Failed within client game: An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. (Exception HRESULT: 0x8007000B)"
I've read somewhere that this is caused by trying to run a 32bit application on a 64bit system, but I've been searching through google and cant seem to find a straight forward solution to the problem.
I am kinda new to the board and a virtual novice when it comes to technical computer stuff, but i would really appreciate any help with this issue.
Thanks
Dave.
More information would be good.....
where is this game? Do you have a website you play it from? What are the specs on your machine?
For now I would try updating your .NET and Java. Most online games use these to run online games.
Thanks for the reply.
The game is here: http://www.poolsharks.com/
Basic specs of my pc:
Processor Type : Intel. Core 2 Quad Q8200 Clock-Speed : 2.33GHz Front Side BUS : 1333MHz CACHE : 4 MB Operating-System : Windows Vista. Home Premium RAM Memory : 6144 MB Hard Disk Capacity : 640 GB
Ive already UPDATED .net frameworks, directx & java but still no success.Do you run 64-bit Vista?

Yes. From what I see, you're correct:
QuoteI've read somewhere that this is caused by trying to run a 32bit application on a 64bit system
but possible solutions goes DEEP into programming issues, and it's not my FIELD.
